GROUP VISITS

Treat your group of 15 + persons to a memorable day out at the Watercress Line and travel by steam or heritage diesel train through 10 miles of beautiful Hampshire countryside between Alresford and Alton.
On midweek days we can also serve your group a delicious ploughmans, hot lunch, cream tea or tea/ coffee & cake on a return journey on board a steam train, available Tuesdays to Thursdays from May to September. Add a pre-booked guided tour of our locomotive shed at Ropley, by one of our knowledgeable volunteers (subject to availability), where you will get a close up view of our locomotives in the yard undergoing maintenance or restoration. Visits inside the engineering works are normally only available on special 'behind the scenes' days. This is because of the safety implications of allowing public groups into an area where heavy engineering is taking place.

FREE pre-booked coach/ mini-bus parking available at Alresford station. Your coach driver will receive a travel warrant and meal voucher to use at the railway on the day of your visit.
Wheelchair Access: It is advisable to begin your journey at Alresford Station where the platform is level with the booking office entrance. Our members of station staff can assist disabled persons to board the train with ramps. Please advise us how many wheelchair users are in your group when booking.
Please note: Group bookings are available on any Standard Travel day, but catering is only available midweek. We cannot organise group visits or give group discounts for Special Event days. Please check availability of the date you wish to visit when contacting us or see our train timetable via this website/ on the timetable leaflet.
