What Is A Service Fee?
Several of the tickets offered for sale on this site are subject to a Service Fee and people often ask why. With any product or service, there is a commission or profit which is often hidden from the customer. For transparency here it is displayed for you to see.

Why Is There A Service Fee?
The charges pay for our credit/debit card processing services, merchant fees, distribution network, the installation and maintenance of computer hardware and software, telephone lines, labour and all other costs associated with the ticket transaction. Processing cheques and credit cards costs a considerable amount of money and up until now we have borne these costs but unfortunately we can no longer do this. We also do not charge for posting tickets to you.

How Much Is It And Where Does It Tell Me?
It depends a little on the value of the ticket but basically adheres to £1.00 per person except for family tickets (2 adults & 2 children) for which the service fee is just £2.00. There are currently no service fees for the following offerings; Countryman Pullman, Watercress Belle and Christmas Dining, Footplate Rides and all Driving & Firing Experiences and Gift Vouchers.

When you arrive at the point of adding tickets to your order summary (see below) if a service fee is to be included, this will be shown clearly under the description of that ticket. Once the ticket type is in your order summary and you proceed to the checkout, any service fees for the tickets you are buying will always be clearly displayed. When you receive your tickets from us, any service fees paid will also be clearly shown on each ticket, and on the order receipt.

Continued Investment
We are constantly striving to make the experience of a visit to the Watercress Line a more memorable one and to do this we must ensure that our facilities continue to meet expectations. We are staffed primarily by volunteers who give up their time generously so that every penny we receive can go towards the continued running and improvement of the Mid-Hants Railway.
